1894
Creation of Savonnerie du Midi, the traditional and historic soap factory for real Marseille soap, in Marseille.
1930
La Savonnerie du Midi is acquired by the Garbit Group, whose founder was a passionate herbalist.
1970
The Savonnerie du Midi was moved to the Aygalades district, where it remains today.
1994
Savonnerie du Midi launches a new brand: Maître Savon de Marseille.
Marseille soaps and other soaps are now made in the Marseille factory.
2011
The Savonnerie du Midi, along with 3 other historic soap manufacturers in the Bouches-du-Rhône region, Union des Professionnels du Savon de Marseille (UPSM)
2013
La Savonnerie du Midi was taken over in 2013 by the PRODEF Group (PROduits D'Entretien Français), which specializes in the manufacture and sale of hygiene and cleaning products.
2014
Maître Savon de Marseille develops environmentally-friendly products, with certifications such as Ecocert, a control and certification organization approved by the French Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries and the French Ministry of the Economy, Industry and Employment.
2015
Maître Savon de Marseille has been awarded a new label: Entrepreneurs + engagés by the FEEF, Fédération des Entreprises et Entrepreneurs de France.
2022
Maître Savon de Marseille was a forerunner in solid dishwashing soap and has expanded its range with new solid maintenance soaps.
